The first step any child should be taught when they enter this life is that they are pilots and creators . . .
. . . and that there will be many experiences that await them in their human life that will demonstrate that they are indeed divine co-creators of their lives. This will help to give them the confidence they need to really trust their inner knowingness and develop their abilities to become the architects of their lives.
I remember as a young person traveling outside of my body consciousness, marveling at the wonderful details in nature, contemplating the clouds for hours, and singing original songs that came from deep within me. It was so very simple, beautiful and natural that it never occurred to me to question my knowingness of my divine imagination and creativity. As time went on the adults around me worked at educating my consciousness into proscribed formats of what was considered "reality" that were quite mundane. And so, over time this constant socialization process edged out my natural connections to the extraordinary experiences I was naturally having, and life became more and more limited.
I grew up in Boulder Colorado, which is situated on the front range of the majestic Rocky Mountains, a place of incredible natural beauty. I still remember playing hooky from primary school on more than one occasion and hiking to my favorite streamside cove to commune with the sunshine, the rushing water and crisp clean air. I had a very real knowingness that this was good, and the right thing to do, regardless of the fact that I knew I supposed to be in school. My innocence informed me that what my adult teachers taught in school paled in comparison to my nature excursions, my "other worldly" trips outside my body, and my inner knowingness and the gentle love that filled me with a purity that I trusted without a second thought. It was bliss to be alive in those moments, and it was worth getting in trouble later on just to enjoy those few magical hours where I just disappeared from everyone and everything to be in divine relationship.
It seems that adults spend much of their lives attempting to attain the delight of a child's natural connection to divine relationship, and there is a good reason why. This child like divine relationship is the key to unlocking one's heart to feel the safety in remembering who we are. We are Soul at play in a magnificent universe in which we are given the ability to create our experiences in life by the consciousness that we hold. If we always seek the divine and highest in every moment of our life, then we can marvel like a child at the simple beauties that constantly surround us and tap into the ever-present creativity of divine spirit that is the starting point for all things.
Each moment of each day that we live is a continuous opportunity to love more, enjoy more and learn more about the divine truths that live in our hearts. To be in divine relationship is to know who we really are.
