Jeffrey's  wonderful conversation with the late Ray Anderson, speaking about his remarkable life achievements.

Ray was surprisingly successful in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions in his operations by over 60% over a 10 years period, making Interface, one of the largest commercial carpet manufacturer's in the world, a model of sustainability and conscious re-design by a business enterprise.

This was no small feat because carpet manufacturing is one of the most toxic industries in the world, yet Ray Anderson was able to prove that nothing is impossible with determination and dedicated effort.

Ray traveled the world extensively spreading the message of sustainability to CEO's of major corporations from all kinds of industries with is message that nothing is impossible and sustainability is achievable no matter what the perceived obstacles.

Ray's remarkable reputation earned him an excellent article called Executive On A Mission: Saving The Planet from the New York Times in May of 2007, the same date as this memorable conversation on The Omni Art Salon.

The New York Times had this to say:

"...in the process, Mr. Anderson has turned into perhaps the leading corporate evangelist for sustainability. He had a head start, he acknowledges, because he ran his company and controlled its voting stock. But he can make the case effectively, he said, because his Interface experience teaches that sustainability doesn't cost, it pays"

In 1997 Ray was named co-chair of the President's Council on Sustainable Development.

It was a great honor to know this remarkable man and to hear him describe his work about transforming industry to becoming sustainable and responsible towards the well being of our world.
